POSITION SUMMARY
The AtlantiCare Workplace Safety Manager works closely with the Corporate Director of Security and Nursing / other Leadership in the ongoing development and implementation of AtlantiCares nationally recognized Workplace Violence Prevention Program. This includes coordinating with the Corporate Director of Security and Nursing / other Leadership on all initiatives to reduce incidents of workplace violence by focusing on workplace safety. Additionally, the position will assist in the preparation of goals and objectives associated with AtlantiCares Workplace Violence Prevention Program.
The Workplace Safety Manager is a requirement of The Joint Commission and will directly review, investigate, and coordinate the post-incident response to all workplace violence incidents. Additionally, the position will track and trend workplace violence incidents, prepare reports and work with the Workers Compensation Department.
The Workplace Safety Manager will work closely with the Security Field Training Officer to develop and execute all training and drills related to workplace violence prevention. This includes annual education, workplace violence response drills, de-escalation with advanced physical skills training, and regulatory compliance.
The Workplace Safety Manager will be a member of and serve a key role on AtlantiCares Workplace Violence Prevention Committee. Additionally, the position will assist in conducting an annual assessment of the physical environment and job task analysis with the goal of integrating best practices to reduce incidents of workplace violence.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in a related field required; Masters degree preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid NJ Drivers License is required.
EXPERIENCE: 5 Years of experience serving as a trainer, conducting investigations and interviews, and having served in a leadership role with supervisory responsibilities in a dynamic, fast-paced organization. Sound communication, interpersonal and organization skills are required. Proficiency with various computer applications is required.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, and crouching for the majority of the workday. Works with such equipment as a computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.

This position reports to Department Leadership, as assigned.

- IS 907 - Active Shooter Training required.
- IAHSS - Basic Course for Healthcare Security required within 6 months of hire.
- IAHSS - Workplace Violence Prevention Certification required within 6 months of hire.
- CPI within 6 months of hire
- BLS within 6 months of hire
