Shift | Working days Monday – Friday. This position will primarily work one of two working hour schedules depending on the work location assignment: 1) 6:45 am – 3:45 pm at Chandler UK Hospital Wildcard Office 2) 8:00 am – 4:30 pm at Gatton Student Center Wildcard Office Must be able to work either schedule to cover openings at the other location as needed. Outside of normal working hours, this position will be required to work Saturdays in March for Merit Weekends and Saturdays in August for student move-ins. There are overtime opportunities during K-Week in August and throughout the year to support the police department’s Citizens Police Academy. |
Job Summary | The WildCard Specialist provides administrative support to the WildCard ID Office which is a division of the University of Kentucky Police Department. The major job responsibilities of the WildCard Specialist are ID Production; Accounting and Record Keeping; Data Entry Related to Healthcare Facilities Access Control & Training; and Customer Service Support. Specific duties include issuing appropriate ID badges using established workflow and policies, verifying proper authority is received before issuing ID badges, operating SAP system, assisting customers in resolving ID badge related issues with access control, registration and IT issues, maintaining various records (revenue reconciliations, journal vouchers, cash/check transmittals, etc.), reconciling all inventory, training other staff on ID production, and providing customer service for all ID requests or system/process issues. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need to protect our university community including our students, staff, faculty and visitors, the University of Kentucky is requiring COVID-19 vaccination for all new hires prior to starting employment. Therefore, as of October 18, 2021, all new hires prior to their first day of employment must submit appropriate documentation showing, i) completion of the first vaccination against COVID-19, or ii) completion of the full vaccination series against COVID-19, or iii) approved exemption (medical contraindications or a sincerely held religious belief) through the formal exemption process from the COVID-19 vaccination requirement. For those employees who have completed the first vaccination against COVID-19 prior to their first day of employment, the second vaccination (if applicable) must be completed following the vaccination recommended schedule to be considered fully vaccinated. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Positive Customer Service Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Accuracy (with data entry, cash handling, etc.) Organization Attention to Detail Technical skills include proficiency with MS Windows Suite and ability to learn and become proficient with new computer systems This position will require candidates to take a polygraph examination as part of the University Police Department’s employment process. |
