We are looking for a dynamic VP of Global Partnerships to join the Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) family! The person in this role will serve as a critical leader of SS&Es Revenue, Brand & Communications group. She/He will use their track record of thinking outside of the box to build marketing platforms to drive tangible value and meet and/or exceed revenue growth goals for our clients and our organization. Reporting to the Senior VP of Revenue & Franchise Operations, this position can be based in San Antonio, Texas or Austin, Texas. Are you our ideal candidate? We are looking for someone who will:

  • Anticipate difficult situations before they arise and pro-actively scenario plan realistic solutions

  1. Lead business development efforts across our full portfolio, which includes the San Antonio Spurs (NBA), AT&T Center, Toyota Field, San Antonio FC (USL), and Austin Spurs (NBA G League)
  2. Provide regular revenue performance updates to SS&E Leadership and investors
  3. Ensure that we drive profitable new business opportunities throughout South Texas, nationally, and globally
  4. Lead partnership sales, activation, and renewal efforts by developing a multi-year strategy that establishes and achieves annual revenue targets
  5. Build and deepen relationships with existing and prospective partners senior-level decision makers
  6. Design and implement a comprehensive partner engagement framework
  7. Recruit, hire, develop, and retain a premier team of sales, strategy, and activation professionals who are results driven and collaborate effectively with a One SS&E mentality
  8. Develop innovative and relevant partnership platforms across community engagement, digital and linear media, bespoke activation spaces, custom retail initiatives, premium giveaways, etc.
  9. Develop compelling storylines, case studies, and pitch materials driven by a clear understanding of the partners brand marketing goals
  10. Collaborate closely with internal colleagues across data analytics, community engagement, marketing, digital, ticketing, and premium seating to deliver maximum value for us and our partners
  11. Coordinate with legal and finance departments to review and approve all partnership agreements and/or amendments
  12. Work closely with colleagues across the NBA and other global professional sports teams to understand best practices and emerging partnership trends
  13. Attend regional, national, and global industry events serving as a spokesperson for SS&E as needed


  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university; graduate degree preferred
  • 10+ years of partnership sales; experience with an agency, team, league, or rights holder is desirable
  • 5+ years of team management experience; experience with a multi-franchise or portfolio organization preferred
  • Deep experience securing multiyear six- and seven-figure per annum partnership deals with regional, national, and global brands; experience in South Texas and Latin America preferred
  • Experience prospecting and closing major marquee entitlements (e.g. facility naming rights)
  • Deep experience creating impactful organic and paid branded content activations in digital environments (web, social, mobile app, and eSports); relationships with digital media agencies preferred
  • High proficiency with sponsor related analytic tools and software (e.g. Nielsen, YouGov, Two Circles, Microsoft Office, and KORE Software)
  • Outstanding communication, analytic, and negotiation skills
  • High energy with ability to work extended/flexible hours that include evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for business meetings
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred
