The Department of Psychology at Loyola University Maryland invites applications for one-year, full-time non-tenure track visiting assistant professor positions in the area of research methods, behavioral neuroscience and/or cognitive psychology, to begin in August 2021. The person hired for this position will be expected to teach 4 undergraduate courses per academic semester. The ideal candidate will be able to teach across at least 2 of the 3 areas indicated (research methods, behavioral neuroscience and cognitive psychology), though candidates who can only teach in one area will be strongly considered. The successful candidate must also be able to hold dedicated office hours, advise undergraduate students, and participate in minimal additional service.

(1) an earned masters or doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology or other social science discipline, with subject matter expertise open; (2) the ability to teach courses in research methods (study designs; descriptive and inferential statistics), behavioral neuroscience (sensation and perception, biopsychology, neuropsychology) and/or cognitive psychology (psychology of learning, cognitive psychology); (3) prior teaching experience and evidence of teaching effectiveness; (4) the ability to create a sense of inclusion and belonging in the classroom, and to infuse multicultural content into course material as appropriate; (5) strong commitment to excellence in teaching, including an appreciation of or engagement in high-impact teaching practices; (6) ability to contribute to the Jesuit educational mission of the department and university.
