Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.
Pipeline Strategy & Portfolio Management within Commercialization & R&D Compliance has an opportunity for a summer intern to concentrate on transformational portfolio management initiatives in support of Amgen's New Commercialization process.
Core responsibilities would include driving improvements and enhancing the consistency of Amgen's product valuation, methods, policies, and tools, integrating decision analysis methods and creative analytical approaches.
The key summer project would be to support the evolution of Amgen's portfolio management framework to an enterprise portfolio management solution through effective process & coding, design, problem solving, and change management efforts.
Basic Qualifications
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergraduate internship or an undergraduate co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
18 years or older
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
Enrolled in a full time Bachelor's program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications
Degree concentration(s) in Computer Science or Engineering
Knowledge in basic economics e.g. finance and accounting knowledge
Strong knowledge of advanced modeling, forecasting methods/tools as it applies to the biotechnology industry
Proficient with Excel and Powerpoint
Excellent team work and ability to work effectively across functions and with partner organizations to meet deliverables
Ability to effectively communicate across various management levels with a strong aptitude for synthesizing recommendations for presentation
Data-Driven and Analytical-Minded
