Let's do this. Let's change the world. Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for designing and implementing the framework for the Dynamic Integrated Study Map (DISM) tool in the Platform resources with a goal to improve overall user experience and dashboarding capabilities in the study planning tools.

The intern will be expected to do the following:
  • Interact with the Platforms team to design the layout and user requirement specification for the DISM tool
  • Identify the appropriate development platform for the DISM deployment in consultation with the Platforms team
  • Alignment of inter-dependencies between different study activities and the associated timeline
  • The DISM tool may be deployed using in-house Python scripts or a combination of Smartsheet/excel VBA based programming
  • Design and implement, enhancements to the current study map and provide dashboarding capabilities to track progress in the study activities
  • Act as a UX promoter within the group
  • Present enhancements implemented during the internship to the leadership team

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Currently enrolled in a full time Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing

Enrolled in a full time Bachelor's degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications
  • Programming experience with Python/Matlab/Java
  • Proficiency with MS Excel
  • Experience with VBA for Excel and Smartsheet will be preferred
  • UX/UI design fundamentals will be a plus
  • Reputed for being detail-oriented and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding written, verbal communication and presentation skills
