Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this positon include: Regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with repetitive motions.


This position is on call and the candidate would need to work 30 hours a month. It is primiarliy for the weekends 9am to 8pm.

Job Summary

The PBX Operator will provide prompt, sensitive and professional responses to callers regarding their questions, complaints, or grievances. This position will also collaborate and serve as a liaison between callers and UK HealthCare staff, physicians, administration, and departments by transferring calls appropriately; monitoring the front entrance, and responding to emergency calls by implementing the appropriate CODE; and adhere to UK Healthcare Behavioral Expectations at all times.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage multiple tasks and/or projects while accurately completing routine functions in a fast paced, high intensity, professional work environment; proficient in Microsoft Office; excellent attention to detail; effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to solve routine problems and manage resources; demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service, time management, and judgment; and respect for confidentiality and diversity.

Clerical experience preferred.
