**Job Description Summary**
This position will report into the Global Tax Operations Leader. The Tax Operations Sr Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
Responsible for quarterly close and reporting activities with respect to GE Renewable Energy- US GAAP financial reporting, including but not limited to effective tax rate analysis, tax payable rollforwards, deferred tax rollforward and year end disclosure requirements for all entities globally.
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Assist with preparation and review of US income tax return including domestic and foreign corporations, return to accrual analysis and Qualified Amended Return adjustments
Identify and implement standardization, automation, and process improvement opportunities with the goal of simplifying compliance processes, enhancing existing analytical tools and utilizing technology to enhance efficiency
Support development and recommendation of tax policy and provides technical advice with respect to areas of assigned responsibilities
Work with tax and finance employees to document and support all significant financial reporting positions taken with respect to income tax accounts (including effective tax rate reconciliations), examine and evaluate all deferred tax balances, leads reconciliation of income tax returns to ledgers, settle quarterly / annual taxes from GE Corporate and perform or monitor reconciliations of ASC 740 income tax accounts in accordance with GE account reconciliation policy
Work with tax and finance employees to forecast taxes for financial planning & analysis purposes and compare actual forecasted quarterly / annual effective tax rates
Collaborate across GE Renewable Energy Tax Operations Team to provide training and share best practices.
Coordinate SOX 404 processes and review with respect to tax functions and extends these processes and reviews to serve as integral "real-time" internal audit or tax controllership reviews
Develop new processes, systems, reports and schedules to ensure adequacy and function of all tax compliance programs and initiatives within areas of assigned responsibility
Ensure the implementation/maintenance of Tax Enterprise Standards
Contribute to and lead ad-hoc tax projects and tax related tasks as needed
Skilled influencer, able to communicate complex messages to others. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
**Required Qualifications**
Bachelor's or Masters' degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting, Finance or Law
10+ years of experience in taxation or as a tax professional working on multi-national clients' tax-related matters or other GE businesses
Significant experience of US GAAP ASC 740
Technical accounting expertise
**Desired Characteristics**
Post-graduate degree taxation
Certified Public Accountant certificate or equivalent professional license is preferred
Tax background essential
Ability to evaluate complex proposals and anticipate, identify, and resolve tax-related risks and opportunities
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Technology and process expertise
Self-starter and ability to work independently
Experience working in a matrix environment
