Required License/Registration/Certification | Certified Surgical Technologist; Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) accredited program of surgical technology, or LPN with at least 10 years in a Surgical Technician role, or certified as a surgical technologist or certified as a surgical technologist first assistant by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or graduate of a military training program (validated with a DD214 or graduation certificate), or UKHC employee who is already in a Surgical Technician role as of 09/17/2016. |
Physical Requirements | The essential functions for include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, the hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments. |
Shift | This is on on-call position, working an average of 8 hours each week. Hours of assignment may be during the days, evenings, or nights, on any day of the week; will also be required to work some weekend, and holidays |
Job Summary | The primary responsibilities for these positions include: Assisting with onboarding of new staff. Creating and maintaining schedules and onboarding new employees. Assesses and provides feedback on new employees. Assists with annual competencies and other educational programs as needed and maintains required documentation of trainings. Assists in developing and reviewing educational materials and resources. Assists in review and development of policies and procedures. Assisting with departmental level classes as needed. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Ability to scrub a variety of surgical cases, organizing, teamwork, presentation skills. Computer skills : Excel, Word, PowerPoint |

Preferred Education/Experience | Graduate of school of surgical technology with 2 years of experience directly related to education. |
