Physical Requirements | The essential functions for include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, the hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments. |

Job Summary | Surgical Assistants directly assists the primary surgeon during the operative procedure. As defined by the American College of Surgeons, the Surgical First Assistant provides aid in exposure, homeostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. This role will vary considerably with the surgical operation, specialty area, and type of facility. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail; exceptional planning and organizational skill; effective written and verbal communication skills; basic computer skills; and knowledge of vendor equipment. |

Preferred Education/Experience | Previous experience in an OR setting; surgical technician or RN experience highly preferred for this position. |
