JOB SUMMARY
Lead a team of Metrology and Electrical technicians while achieving deliverables on time and according to cGMP guidelines.
Provide oversight for personnel or team issues and personnel development. Utilize cGMP, GDP, EHS, DEQ, SOX, OSHA, Life Safety, and applicable building codes.
Provide technical support to others within the company.
Present and defend the Metrology program to outside auditors.
Maintain compliance with applicable cGMP regulations, vendor guidelines, and documentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for overseeing all day-to-day activities within the functional areas, including performance management
Responsible for making daily adjustments to the planned work schedule, including reassigning tasks as necessary due to emergency to high priority unplanned Work Orders
Responsible for all personnel issues (PTO, overtime, IPMPs, discipline, reward, team/personnel development) within the functional area
Responsible for cGMP training compliance, career development, skill training, and cross training of worker. Mentors and provides support as necessary
Participant and lead in major projects; technical, cost, scheduling and performance decisions.
Follow engineering standards across projects by identifying and implementing best practices. Be accountable for quality.
Identify and suggest initiatives for continuous quality improvement in safety, efficiency, quality, and process profitability.
Manage competing demands and priorities.
Support maintenance and manufacturing to trouble shoot equipment, facility, and utility failures and initiate corrective actions.
Perform equipment specifications and designs. Review and approve technical proposals and designs.
Assist in developing cost estimates.

Must comply with all applicable rules and regulations of Emergent and the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry. This includes FDA regulations such as cGMP, GDP, EH&S regulations, and company regulations such as the employee handbook

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent related experience
2+ years in Metrology supervision in a pharmaceutical cGMP industry. Food or chemical industry considered.
5+ years experience with calibration in a Manufacturing environment demonstrating increased responsibility.
Knowledge of equipment, facilities, standards, techniques, policies, and processes.
Good leadership/decision making skills.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products.
