Physical Requirements
Will be doing extensive driving throughout the Commonwealth & surrounding states. Presentations may require the lifting of objects up to 20 lbs. When in office: sitting for long periods of time; repetitive motions typical of desk work (typing/twisting/bending/prolonged exposure to computer screen)
Shift
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
Job Summary

To assist in actualizing our mission, we seek candidates for the position of Recruitment Officer (Student Affairs Officer III). This position will be responsible for:

Student Recruitment
  • Develop, implement, and manage a recruiting strategy and plan to attract high-achieving students across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in the college.
  • Initiate day-to-day management of Student-centered recruitment-related tasks such as responding to general queries, coordinating individual meetings with prospective students and their families, hosting college recruiting events and building tours and special events.
  • Personalize admissions counseling to the needs and interests of each individual student with promotion of special opportunities within the college.
  • Develop creative strategies to incorporate faculty, staff, and alumni in the recruiting process, and customize recruiting efforts for each graduate program in close consultation with each respective Academic Director, including application requirements and program expectations.
  • Manage annual recruitment calendar and budget.
  • Develop relationships with regional campus partners and advisors to increase graduate program interest and awareness, develop and maintain relationships with high school and university professionals to promote college programs.
  • Plan and host recruitment events on campus and virtually.
  • Monitor and report recruitment and yield strategies and benchmarks, develop yield strategies to retain candidates through program matriculation.
  • Supervise undergraduate recruiting intern and coordinate the Ambassador program.
  • Provide prospective students with scholarship, financial aid, and other funding support information

University and External Recruiting Programs
  • Coordinate the College’s involvement with and represent CoSW all organized university recruitment events as needed, including college fairs, recruiting programs for targeted student groups, and high school visits.
  • Participate in yield-related events such as Preview Nights, Merit Weekend and See Blue U orientations.
  • Maintain and manage strong connections with Enrollment Management staff and other UK partners, especially in regard to maintaining strong knowledge of processes related to admissions, scholarships, financial aid, housing, and academics.
  • Coordinate prospective student visits to campus, including visiting classes and meeting with students and faculty as appropriate.

Marketing/Communication Liaison
  • In coordination with Enrollment Management, University public relations, and the Marketing and Communication unit, create, develop, and implement timely and relevant communication plans with all prospective and admitted students.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive, strategic communications plan to attract applicants, in partnership with the Marketing and Communication team, including specific efforts in the areas of diversity, work experience, and online candidates.
  • Develop recruitment presentations to appropriate audiences.
  • Manage process for regular updates to recruiting-related marketing materials, including the college viewbook, prospective student website, and promotional items.
  • Host on-campus visits of potential student applicants and their families.
  • Follow-up on student inquiries about the CoSW programs, collaborating with CoSW and other professionals, maintain communication with students to support matriculation.
  • Assist with summer orientations and parent meetings.
  • Assist with student events as needed, including those scheduled during Social Work Month.
  • Maintain records of student and professional contacts and student-related activities.

Data Management
  • Data management responsibilities include running reports for undergraduate student admissions to include daily updates of applications, admits, deferred, and confirmed students.
  • Knowledge and use of Tableau data to make recruitment decisions including communications strategies, marketing strategies, and to establish territory markets.
  • Data management utilized to monitor important attributes of students including region, scores, GPA, ethnicity, first generation, study interests, and etc.
  • Provide the DUS reports and present the data in visually appealing graphics to determine course of action for the undergraduate program to maintain enrollment and projected growth.
  • Data management assists in decisions of recruitment and ultimately to yield students.
  • Create, monitor, and report recruitment results and enrollment forecasts based on implemented strategies.
  • Create and manage data analytics to assess the effectiveness of recruiting efforts.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Strong public speaking and written communication skills
• Knowledge of effective communication methods
• Experience in planning and carrying out professional presentations
• Excellent time management
• Ability to manage and analyze data
• Ability to function both as a contributing team member and lead independent projects
• Full proficiency in MS Windows, iOS (Apple), and MS Office
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
• Familiar with distance learning technology and Zoom
• Knowledge of the social work profession is preferred but not required.

Preferred Education/Experience
Master’s Degree and 3 years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience in Recruiting, Marketing, PR, or Strategic Communications preferred.
