Strategic Business Analyst

ADP is hiring a Strategic Business Analyst. The Strategic Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the strategy process, with an emphasis on understanding the dynamics of the "Three C's" -- Customers, Competitors, and Company (i.e., internal capabilities). The position requires fact-based research capabilities, strong quantitative and analytical data modeling, strategic thinking and collaboration skills, excellent presentation and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to provide insights that move from problem definition to pragmatic operational execution.

  • Performing strategic analyses of internal data (Sales, Clients, Retention, Profitability, etc.) to uncover and understand key trends in the business using actuarial models.
  • Identifying potential areas of risk that threaten the success of the company and proposing methodologies and solutions to overcome.
  • Predicting future trends based on the latest data relating to claims, pricing, costs and other financial elements.
  • Partnering with Treasury, Finance, & Risk to ensure that Insurance program revenue and costs are accurately applied.
  • Reviewing, interpreting and reconciling contractual financial components with vendors.
  • Responsible for compiling and presenting key reporting metrics and other visual materials to highlight the effects of risks.
  • Producing and presenting forecast for all Insurance revenue lines inclusive of robust summary of assumptions.
  • Preparing and validating quarterly consolidated forecast and monthly revenue presentation.
  • Facilitating the independent design, analysis, and communication of findings resolving ad hoc requests and questions.
  • Working collaboratively with broker, carrier, and actuarial partners.
  • Conducting research and analysis of public and private competitors in order to maintain effective selling and retention strategies.
  • Working with Sales and Service to develop and gather field-level intelligence and promote internal usage.
  • Supporting key market intelligence gathering programs, including Client Advisory Boards and Product Development.
  • Evaluating and interpreting raw data from programs to formulate specific recommendations about client and product strategies.
  • Supporting special projects to drive growth and/or profitability.
  • Conducting strategic analysis and financial modeling to assess market opportunities, including revenue and profit impact on ADP.
  • Project management/leadership of multi-departmental initiatives



  • Bachelor's Degree required with Major in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or Statistics
  • Master's Degree preferred with Major or Area of Concentration in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or Statistics
  • 3-5 Years of Directly Related Experience
