Job Summary | The Vascular Lab seeks an individual to schedule procedures for our patients. The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to scheduling and coordination of procedures, receiving incoming calls from patients, making reminder calls to patients, and communicating all follow-up needed with the patient, provider, and vascular surgery units. This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Customer Scheduling and Access: Maintains patient confidentiality at all times to the extent permitted by facility restrictions. Ensures that all orders are available in the department per departmental service standards. Schedules elective and urgent cases appropriately via telephone and fax from physicians, physicians’ offices, and patients. Greets all internal and external customers in a friendly and professional manner per departmental service standards. Gathers maintains, and appropriately distributes all pertinent labs, forms, and patient history required to perform testing. Provides requestor with the necessary information regarding patient preparation. Triages exam requests and prioritizes based on equipment and schedule availability, diagnosis, and exam activity. Effectively operates departmental phone systems with minimal error. Customer Service: Treats all customers, patients and their families, and personnel with respect. Makes eye contact with and smiles at every patient every time. Personally escorts patients who need directions or assistance whenever possible. Engages customers to determine their needs to provide quality service. Displays appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication. Thanks to every customer every time. Preserves the customer experience by exhibiting the proper on-stage and off-stage behavior. Uses interpersonal skills and effective means of communication, to convey a positive and supportive attitude, which leads to physician, patient, and co-worker respect and confidence. |
