Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to and possibly over 50lbs; Standing or walking with objects up to 25 lbs; Repetitive motion. Work is performed in assigned zone locations and employee may occasionally be exposed to elements, weather, and other non-office or inside building type conditions.

4:30 pm – 1:00 am; Monday afternoon – Saturday morning.

The Floor Technician demonstrates expertise in making floors look pristine and contributes to the overall maintenance and appeal of the UK Campus Buildings, Labs, Classrooms, etc., which requires: Striping, waxing, and burnishing floors with minimal to no assistance; Operating various types and pieces of equipment necessary to effectively perform job functions relating to buffing; extracting; wet and dry vacuuming; pressure washing; scrubbing; etc., and Maintaining floor care equipment. In addition, the Floor Technician performs routine mopping (dry and damp), scrubbing, shining, buffing and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells; Vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting, and extracting carpets, stairwells, and upholstery; Moving large furniture and objects; and Presenting a clean environment to faculty, students, staff and visitors.

This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
