The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.


9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Monday thru Friday

Job Summary

Demonstrates foundations of service excellence to patients, visitors, and members of the healthcare team. Is respectful and courteous in all interactions. Perform service promptly and care with sensitivity to patient state of mind, right to privacy. Engages in patient and employee satisfaction initiatives. Collaborates with team members and leadership to prevent and resolve service failure process problems. Follows UK HealthCare Behavioral Expectations for Service Excellence. Understands principles of customer service. Assumes responsibility for professional development. Strives for performance excellence and seeks feed-back from others for improvement opportunities. Completes all required competencies. Participates in staff meetings or other meetings as required. Maintains applicable certifications as required by position. Demonstrates ability to use equipment appropriately and computer as necessary to perform the job. Participates in committees/councils as appropriate. Serves a preceptor for new staff in same role. Provides safe, competent, and age-specific care. Documents care provided, written or electronic, in an accurate thorough, legible manner, according to policy. Coordination of patient care and clinical problem solving within scope of responsibilities. Meets all clinical expectations outlined by clinic manager and within scope of practice. Essential functions for patient care. Keeps room stocked and supplies available, rooms clean following enterprise infection control processes. Works efficiently and completes tasks within appropriate time parameters. Improves work flow based on standard work. Resources are used appropriately. Reports to work on time and as scheduled. Able to prioritize care. Works within the interdisciplinary team. Ability to multitask.
Check in/check out patients. Schedules tests and procedures, checks insurance coverage and obtains insurance authorization, notifies patient of date/time/location of service. Performs medical necessity checks using ABN. Chart prep, abstractions, charge entry. Completes FMLA, short term paperwork. Receives patient phone calls, documents reason for call, seeks help as needed to respond appropriately to patient request and communicates patient problem with other clinical staff and/or provider. Other administrative duties as assigned.
