Role Summary:As a leader in ultra-supercritical steam technology, GE continues to push the limits of our best-in-class steam technology even further. With higher steam parameters and higher efficiency rates, GE is the first-to-market with advanced ultra-supercritical technology. Specializing in boiler, gas, steam and environmental components, our service center offers on-site inspection, repair, and engineering.



Essential Responsibilities:Mechanical Engineering Intern (Richmond, VA):





+ Concentration: Strength of mechanical design, Thermodynamics, CAD modelling.



+ GPA: 3.5 and Above





+ Learn OEM and oOEM steam turbine technologies, product and service offerings during tender phase and during execution phase.



+ Support reviewing steam turbine outage reports, customer technical information letters, service bulletins, operational issues and product offerings to put together steam turbine engineering recommendations.



+ Use product life management tools for component design and assembly.



+ Learn re-engineering tools and process. Good understanding of material science and manufacturing methods and process.



+ Learn and understand engineering process and workflows.



+ Help and support senior Engineering team members in their projects.



+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.



+ Strong problem solving and analytical skills.



+ Demonstrate leadership skills.













Automation & Controls Intern (Salem, VA):



The products included in GE's Automation & Controls solution platform - industrial software, distributed control systems and process safety systems - control, automate and optimize the processes that power the world. GEs Automation & Controls technology controls and monitors thousands of assets worldwide, every day. In fact, GE receives more than 20,000 signals every minute.



Examples of these deployments include:









+ Automating the processes that generate half of the worlds power.



+ Keeping oil production safe by controlling a quarter of the worlds blowout preventers.



+ Getting people where the need to go, safely and on time in a third of the worlds major metro systems.







Qualifications/Requirements:



+ Must have one to two semesters left prior to graduation and be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline as listed below.



+ Following majors accepted: Electrical Engineering & Mechanical Engineering











ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:









+ Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).

+ Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process



+ Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process



+ Must be 18 years of age or older



+ Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships



+ Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license



+ Must be willing to work in geographical area specified by the business
