**Job Description Summary**

As an Enterprise High Performance Computing as a Service (HPCaaS) Operations Engineer you will develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive site operational strategy focused on the service quality, stability, availability and performance of our shared High Performance Computing product portfolio. You will be responsible for leading a team of contract resources, as well as for the day-to-day oversight of the operation, for maintaining supplier relationships and for defining, implementing and meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs,) tracking performance to those metrics and reporting progress to leadership. Lastly, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service in the spirit of continuous improvement, supporting an open, collaborative, transparent and accountable team environment as well as fostering a compliance culture of unyielding integrity.



**Job Description**



**Roles and Responsibilities**



+ Oversee and lead the day-to-day site operations of a High Performance Computing shared service environment supporting Engineering functional communities across multiple GE business units inclusive of compute, data storage, and visualization products and services.

+ Lead, coach and mentor a team of contract resources to high quality customer outcomes based on shared vision, clear priorities and defined outcomes.

+ Establish an operating rhythm with the team to ensure a consistent understanding of operational priorities, goals, objectives and deliverables.

+ Develop a customer-centric operating culture that embraces change, continuous improvement and is focused on innovation and operating in an collaborative, accountable and transparent way.

+ Partner with global site operations leaders to ensure standard technologies, configurations, processes, tools, and strategies are used in the management of site infrastructure; reducing and minimizing duplication of effort.

+ Ensure the High Performance Computing infrastructure environments are built, maintained and operated in accordance with defined HPCaaS global technology standards as well as GE cybersecurity and risk imperatives.

+ Lead and manage HPCaaS technology and system implementation, lifecycle management and site service evolution planning and roadmap.

+ Lead, manage and influence functional strategy around regional data center site selection, service build-out and technology lifecycle and refresh initiatives.

+ Partner and collaborate with Engineering and IT/DT leadership and stakeholders on operational strategy, reportable metrics, resolving issues, concerns and events affecting our services.

+ Partner with Senior Director to establish vision, drive the operational, technology, quality and resource strategy for the organization.

+ Own and be accountable for team financials, resources and staffing - assuring commitments are met.

+ Demonstrate expert level skills in collaboration with different stakeholders, influencing decisions and an ability to take strategic view.

+ Participate in activities for strategic business rhythms including Op Planning for the coming year.

+ Navigate through ambiguity, prioritize conflicting asks and show ability to adapt to changing situations.



**Education Qualification**



Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with advanced experience.



**Desired Characteristics**



+ At least 7 years of Information Technology experience with at least 5 years managing operations in a large enterprise-class environment comprised of complex, heterogeneous technologies.

+ Experience leading a team in a matrix organization and with managing contract staff.

+ Experience working with and managing supplier relationships.

+ Experience operating and supporting a High Performance Computing infrastructure environment aligned to simulation-based engineering and science, research and/or technology development.

+ Experience with HPC job scheduling (PBSPro,) resource management, administration of large Linux/Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, VMWare virtualized infrastructure, enterprise-class storage technologies (DDN/Lustre, NetApp NAS) as well as Mellanox Infiniband and Cisco Catalyst and ACI software defined networks.

+ Experience supporting engineering software aligned to finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics and mechanical analytics or equivalent.

+ Proven ability to communicate clearly across all levels of an organization and to work effectively across geographic and business boundaries.

+ Demonstrated energy and enthusiasm with the ability to thrive in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment.

+ Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and global teaming skills.

+ Process oriented - results, quality and cost driven.

+ Six Sigma Green Belt certified.

+ Exposure to ITIL and Lean Six Sigma practices.
