**Job Description Summary**

We are seeking a candidate with excellent software development skills to be part of a team that develops the next generation of GEs global mobile & collaboration solutions. The engineer will lead the design and build web UI and mobile applications using modern frameworks such as React, Angular and React Native. The developer will be responsible for assisting in the gathering of requirements, verifying designs with stakeholders, and implementing the code to build a final product. This position will coordinate with team members for design, development, and operations.

**Roles & Responsibilities**



+ Be responsible for providing technical leadership andarchitecting, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure

+ Work with ProductOwners and stakeholdersto understand product requirements & vision

+ Translate requirements into prioritized list of user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standards

+ Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse

+ Support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities

+ Coach, mentor and leadjunior members ofthe team

+ Work cross functionally with other business departments to align activities and deliverables

+ Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products

+ Communicate effectivelywith bothinternaland externalteams

+ Engage subject matter experts in successful transfer of complex domain knowledge

+ Applyprinciples ofSDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques

+ Understandperformance parameters andassess application performance

+ Work oncore data structures and algorithms and implement them using technology chosen

+ Make informed decisions quickly and taking ownership of services and applications at scale

+ Support and maintain legacy systems that provide critical business functionality across the organization

+ Be eager to learn about new technologies and software best practices



**Basic Qualifications**



+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with at 4 years software engineering experience OR in lieu of a degree, 8 yrs. of software engineering experience.



**Eligibility Requirement**

_Technical_ _Expertise:_



+ 4+ years of experience building web applications with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, React, AngularJS, NodeJS

+ 3+ years of experience building mobile applications using React Native

+ Expertise in the JavaScript and TypeScript language and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax

+ Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Enzyme, Jasmine, Mocha)

+ Experience with build tools such as Webpack, Grunt or Gulp

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Solid experience at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts

+ Leverage native APIs for deep integrations across mobile platforms (iOS and Android)

+ Develop pixel-perfect, elegant UIs across mobile platforms (iOS and Android)

+ Experience with state management systems like Redux or Flux and the ability to properly design states of the application/component

+ Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage

+ Comfortable with reaching out to the open-source community for advice or solutions to obscure issues

+ Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks to achieve native-like behavior and experience

+ Strong interpersonal skills

+ Ability to lead small teams



+ Comfortable in building features such as web services and Queries on existing tables.

+ Aware of methods and practices such as Lean/Agile/XP, etc.

+ Prior work experience in an agile environment, or introductory training on Lean/Agile. Aware of and able to apply continuous integration (CI).

+ General understanding of the impacts of technology choice to the software development life cycle.

+ Experience working in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) development environment

+ Experience with OAuth 2.0 Authorization framework

+ Experience with API Gateway platforms such as Apigee or Akana

+ Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

+ Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools like Jenkins

+ Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle, Android Studio, IntelliJ
