What Youll Do:

The Senior Adoptions and Proposals Specialist will play a key role in the authorship and project management associated with K-12 local, state, and federal instructional materials adoptions and requests for proposals. The Specialist will utilize his or her educational expertise to write cogent proposals and rubric documents, with meticulous detail to curriculum standards and pedagogical requirements, while ensuring compliance with district, state, and/or federal policies.

  • Research, author and edit responses to questions contained within RFP's, RFIs, and state and local textbook adoption documents, applying educational expertise to craft masterful and successful proposals
  • Analyze incoming RFP's, RFI's, and state and local textbook adoption requests to determine products required, level of effort, and timing of product delivery and legal requirements.
  • Serve as a responsible leader in collaborating with Product, Curriculum, Legal, Partnerships, Technical Support, Professional Development, among others to create accurate, persuasive, and cogent responsive documents.
  • Possess a high level of responsibility, drive, and self-motivation to meet very specific RFP response deadlines.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining the Proposals and Adoptions database, which will contain answers to most of the questions received in Requests for Proposals RFPs and Requests for Information RFIs. The database must be scrupulously current, on-message, well-written and accurate.
  • Work closely with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure submissions meet all necessary legal requirements and to ensure documents are submitted on time in the correct format.
  • Facilitate the packaging and shipping of proposals and adoption related deliverables, to ensure delivery by stated due dates and times, and in compliance with packaging and labeling requirements.
  • Provide support as-needed to Operations and Partnerships teams, when assistance is needed to help produce time-sensitive tasks.
  • Constantly work to help achieve stated business goals of the Operations team, and the entire organization.

Who You Are:

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience as a teacher or related education position, preferably in secondary Science. Background with proposals and business writing a plus.
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Expertise with teaching and learning aligned to local, state, and/or national curriculum standards
    • Knowledge and understanding of differentiation strategies, formative and summative assessment, educational technology tools and resources, and the needs of special education, English language learners, and other special populations.
  • Education: (Associates, Bachelors, Master) or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Acrobat Pro
  • Communication Skills:
    • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with ability to deploy those skills with precision, accuracy, and speed
    • Strong communication (both orally and in writing) and people skills, for both internal and external business communication
  • Self-Motivation and Self-Starter: Driven self-starter with the ability to do what needs to be done without being micromanaged; ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks, proactively manage numerous projects, and prioritize competing timelines; demonstrate a problem solving/ solution-oriented approach
  • Learning Orientation: Always willing to learn something new, not rigid in beliefs or expectations
  • Focus on Diversity: Have a demonstrated ability to understand, accept and engage with people of diverse backgrounds.
