Position Summary

As a Senior Manager, Accounting Operations, you will play an integral role in the Financial Accounting process and will drive the internal accounting close process and related functions. This position offers the opportunity to leverage an extensive background in accounting with the intensity and dynamics of a publicly traded commercial biotechnology company.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Manage the Accounting Operations teams for Accounts Payable and GL.
  • Lead the timely month-end close process, including the review and approval of journal entries and reconciliations that have been prepared by others.
  • Manage all cash related activity, including review of bank statement reconciliations to general ledger and assisting as needed on researching/resolving any unreconciled cash transactions timely and accurately
  • Ensure all routine AP duties and month end close processes are completed timely and accurately.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and receiving teams to ensure smooth processing of AP transactions.
  • Supervise the monthly accounting accruals process
  • Review the planning & execution of the annual fixed asset count
  • Ensure transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed, and supported in accordance with company policies, generally accepted accounting principles, and SOX controls.
  • Review Purchase Requisitions and Invoices for appropriate account coding.
  • Manage the accuracy and timely filing of 1099's, Sales and Use Tax filings, property tax filings, government census, and franchise tax filings, taking direction as needed from the Tax Department.
  • Ensure that operational and design effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting are maintained.
  • Prepare data and other support information requests, including financial statement analysis, as needed for audits and reviews conducted by external and SOX auditing firms.
  • Take an active role within the Finance organization to drive goal achievement, while evaluating and recommending process improvements.
  • Work with IT to drive any processes improvements identified within D365
  • Other projects as directed by Management.


Education

Minimum Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent

Experience

Minimum Required:
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience supervising a team.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP


Preferred:
  • Experience with Microsoft D365 preferred.
  • Biotech industry experience preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
