JOB POSITION: Sr. Engineer

LOCATION: 33 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55402

DUTIES: Develop and gain insight into application architecture; lead functional design and architecture discussions with an understanding of process flows and system diagrams to enable design decisions; participate in construction, automation, and implementation activities, ensuring successful implementation with architectural and operational requirements and best practices met; design new microservices and RESTful API; support legacy systems and improve performance of applications; improve the stability and testability of the existing code; monitor usage and error occurrences of applications; continuously deploy application in production; mentor other developers; strategize plans for new application features; create and implement user interfaces; and bring innovative ideas to improve the supportability of applications. Tools and technologies used: Java, Kotlin, NodeJS, Spring Boot, Micronaut Framework, Spring Framework, Postgres, NoSQL, OpenStack VM, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Chef, Drone, Docker, Telegraf, Kibana, Git, IntelliJ, Kafka, Junit, JMock, React JS, k6 JavaScript Performance Testing, Shell, Bash, Elasticsearch, Linux, Load balancer, API gateway, Unimatrix, Target Application Platform, Maven, and Gradle.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Masters degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and at least three (3) years of experience in software engineering (any title) implementing user interfaces and using Java, NodeJS, Spring Framework, Git, IntelliJ, JUnit, and Elasticsearch. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and at least five (5) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience in software engineering (any title) implementing user interfaces and using Java, NodeJS, Spring Framework, Git, IntelliJ, JUnit, and Elasticsearch.
