Sr Engineer - Balance of Plant Controls Engineer

Role Summary:

The individual will work within a dynamic, global Controls design team for Balance of Plant in the execution of programs including New Units, Customizations and Upgrades (CM&U). Design, execute, analyze and document software development and Controls process.

Participate in the full Controls lifecycle, from implementing specific customer requirements to validation at different levels.

Essential Responsibilities:

+ Develop and apply control technologies to Auxiliary plant systems.

+ Define and continuously improve methodologies for developing and testing gas turbine software and control systems.

+ Write, test and develop requirements for Plant application code in MarkVIe.

+ Develop new control technologies into packaged product offerings/plant operation.

+ Participate in Factory Acceptance / Software Witnesses Acceptance Tests with customers.

+ Support site installations with occasional travel to customer sites 80% Office 20% Travel to customer site.

+ Lead projects with ultimate responsibility for quality and schedule metrics.

+ Support Controls Software Engineering process, Production and Field Engineering.

+ Provide engineering technical support cross functional teams to improve or resolve Controls design, performance.

+ Lead Software development and perform validation test.

+ Lead the solution of complex technical problems.

+ Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.

+ Effectively communicate and provide recommendations to internal customers through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data.

+ Assure proper documentation of technical data is generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

+ Conduct assessments and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.

+ Interface with external organizations and supporting functions, and direct/coordinate the efforts of project team members in order to accomplish overall goals.

+ Support team's technical proficiency and growth.


+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electronic, electrical, Mechatronic).

+ Proven excellent oral and written communication skills.

+ Ability to independently lead & drive projects to completion.

+ Willingness to be challenged and learn new technologies and skills.

+ Ability to multi-task efficiently and meet milestones.

+ Excellent organizational/project execution skills and prior success in working with cross-functional teams.

+ Deep MarkVIe Control Experience - Toolbox.

+ Cimplicity based HMI experience.

+ BOP Controls Experienced (HRSG, Cooling systems, Sub station control, DCS).

+ Legal right to work in Mxico. We will not sponsor individuals for legal permits or visas.

+ In case of being a GEIQ employee, you must have previously occupied a position as an E4 or Senior Engineer.

Desired Characteristics:

+ Industrial control experience with ladder logic applications.

+ Knowledge of network protocols Profibus, Modbus, EGD, FFB.

+ Experience with modeling and simulation software.

+ Gas Turbine controls knowledge/experience Gas Heavy Duty.

+ Passion for continuous learning and applying best practices to achieve practical solutions.

+ Experience providing field support as troubleshooting and software upgrades.

+ Understanding of Heavy duty and Plant functionality.
