Amgen is searching for a Sr. Associate IS Security Engineer who plays an integral role in information security for Amgen in supporting various capabilities within information security such as targeted adversarial operations, vulnerability management, and cyber threat intelligence. The Sr. Associate IS Analyst will work with various partners at Amgen in a manner aligned to Amgen's values to define and implement information security services strategies, standards, tools and processes. This role will collaborate with the Sr. Manager, Information Systems and will be based in Tampa, FL, at Amgen's Capability Center.

The Sr. Associate IS Security Engineer will work with other Amgen teams like security operations on architecting, designing, and implementing technologies, processes, and other improvements in vulnerability management. This role will be a part of Amgen's Information Security team and will be expected to contribute to and help deliver services and projects in other areas of information security. The role will be part of the Information Security team responsible for delivering security services across Amgen globally. This position will focus on information security services and technologies but will support Threat & Vulnerability Management.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of project delivery from initial customer contact to closeout using Agile methodologies and act as Scrum Master
  • Primary point of contact for client and delivery team, looking to assist in scheduling and initiating engagements
  • Maintains internal documentation/procedures
  • Ensure Customer receives timely communication and update for active projects
  • Own scheduling and resource management for the team
  • Participate in and own process and system improvement initiatives
  • Ensure customer documentation and communication is made available for entire team
  • Maximize consultant utilization while ensuring balanced and manageable workload
  • Establish strong relationships with consultants, understanding individual skills and capabilities
  • Assist in recommending and prioritizing remediation efforts within infrastructure and application teams
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to remediate or mitigate security vulnerabilities and build patching compliance dashboard
  • Run tracking and remediation of vulnerabilities by using agreed-upon action plans and timelines with support teams
  • Developing automated and ad hoc reports of security metrics
  • Support Cyber Security Operations Center on security incidents including contributing to mock security incident exercises.
  • Build upon existing capability, recommending cutting-edge tools and procedures to detect threats and protect the firm's intellectual property and assets
  • Maintain current workflows and develop new ones as needed
  • Management of technologies and processes relating to assigned Information Security capability including issue identification and resolution, integration with other tools, documentation, gap assessment, gap resolution and continuous improvement of the service
  • Define, provide, and improve metrics on the assigned services including the use of appropriate applications and tools for reporting
  • Develop or participate in the development of business cases and presentations on information security technologies of interest to Amgen
  • Participate in proactive research and provide recommendations for continuous improvement on information security technologies, processes and services
  • Develops, implements, and sustains operational scripts, data structures, libraries and programming code that optimize security in emergent compute patterns with diverse applications throughout the global environment.
  • Analyzes, designs, develops and operates programs, shell scripts, tests, and infrastructure automation capabilities in an advanced security context.
  • Collaborates multi-functionally with analysts, engineers, data scientists to deliver continuous improvement in cyber defense/resilience.


IS Analyst will also present project status reports to senior management, adhere to policies and practices relative to technical guidelines and change management processes, and may contribute to the development of new policies and practices by suggesting innovative ideas.

Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree

Or

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Information Systems and/ or Computer Science experience

Or

Associate degree and 6 years of Information Systems and/ or Computer Science experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Information Systems and/ or Computer Science experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher-level education or work experience equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in Information Security and over 4 years' experience in Information Systems
  • Clear understanding of and ability to handle cognitive biases
  • Experience in project coordination or management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Passionate, collaborative and results oriented
  • Attention to detail and good planning skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Conflict resolution experience
  • Detailed knowledge of Windows and/or Linux systems and associated scripting languages
  • Entry level security certification (CompTIA Security+, Microsoft MTA Security, ISACA CSX, GISF, SSCP)
  • Attention to detail and focus on providing vetted information
  • Working knowledge of global threats to international cyber security, and conversant in the tactics, techniques and procedures used by cyber adversaries
  • Experience with Enterprise GRC tools in the area of vendor management
  • Understanding of and ability to work in Agile teams (SCRUM)
  • Microsoft`s MCSA / MCSE certifications


Preferred Certifications (Any):
  • CEH, CISSP, GCIH, GPEN, ITIL, ITSM, PMP, SCRUM
