Role Summary:Responsible for leading an operations team, partnering with Sales, Finance, Marketing and other Enterprise Operations teams to drive orders/sales performance and contract execution across our region-based customers and accounts. This position is responsible for providing leadership, including operational support, pricing support and driving operational excellence across the team. Serves as a business partner to drive business initiatives, growth, business strategy and profitability.

Essential Responsibilities:

+ Lead Order and Sales Operations processes & mechanisms for the region and coordinate their implementation.

+ Partner with business leader and staff to drive operating performance & act as champion for strategic initiatives within the organization

+ Partner with the Enterprise Operations teams (i.e. Deal structuring, contracting, order management, proposals, variable compensation) as well as Service, Marketing, Commercial Excellence and Global Supply Chain to improve sales team efficiency and effectiveness

+ Cultivate partnerships with Value Creation leaders and their teams to build consistent strategies for multi-modality projects and cross-P&L business events

+ Establish strategic imperatives & Initiatives in order to ensure the fulfillment of business requirements and to optimize business performance

+ Drive operational excellence processes throughout the team to ensure contract compliance and customer satisfaction. Effectively lead a team of operations leaders, determine clear roles & responsibilities, identify and action development needs to ensure superior business & customer support

+ Enable collaborative culture and drive organization to improve customer/client satisfaction levels and responsiveness

+ Develop metrics to measure progress to make tools more effective and to make the employees more efficient

+ Ensure data analytics drive decision making

+ Identify opportunities to improve visibility, win-rate and share performance across P&L and Zones

+ Drive processes simplification and best practices 12.Ensure that the processes of the Quality Management System (QMS) are implemented and maintained (QSMRs)

+ Support internal and external Quality audits and closure of audit findings

Support the EHS program and the follow up (EHS contractor safety / EHS training fulfillments)


+ Minimum of a Bachelors Degree and 8+ years experience in sales management, commercial operations management, or financial management

+ Demonstrated ability to lead and influence a team within a large, complex and matrixed organization

+ Ability to influence and collaborate with senior level management team

+ Experience leading or managing projects of various size, duration and scope

+ Ability to translate strategy into business objectives

Executive level presentation skills

+ Coaching and mentoring experience

+ Demonstrated written and oral communication skills

+ Reliable, responsive, attentive to detail

+ Action and results oriented

+ This role will work out of the Chicago location

Desired Characteristics:

+ Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change

+ Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas

+ Leadership experience: has two years experience leading team members balancing execution through others with inclusiveness, leveraging expertise, clear thinking, imagination, and external focus.

+ Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in a easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing

+ Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, SAP, COGNOS, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, VLookup, and Macros)

+ Confidence / Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions; confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position

+ Experience working with pricing, price file management, pricing escalations and big deals.

+ Experience working with customer contracts and requests for proposal responses

+ Experience successfully leading cross-functional projects and process improvement within the operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas

+ Experience leading in a matrixed environment and leveraging other functions to enable team success

+ Adaptable/flexible: being open to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations

+ Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others

+ Basic understanding of financial compliance: SOX, GAAP

+ Trained and/or certified in process improvement methodology such as LEAN or Six Sigma

Masters degree in Business Administration
