Overview

Discovery Inc is currently searching for a Specialist, Studio & Field Operations to be based in our NY, Chelsea Market office.



Responsibilities

Coordinate equipment needs for remote and studio-based projects
1. Extensive experience in broadcast cameras, lenses, audio/video signals and formats, lighting and grip equipment required.
2. Candidate will have experience in Media Management and Camera Assist techniques.
3. Prep, Setup and Operate production gear.
4. Work with producers, crew and scheduling department to ensure that the gear is in working order, packed and shipped to the location on time; and ready to use
5. Experience with Inventory Management (Barcoding) system is mandatory
6. Assist as vendor liaison for purchases or rentals.
7. Aid in various roles in studio technical support and training, including but not limited to: Camera Operator, Grip, LD, Gaffer and Audio assistant.
8. Occasional travel for remote productions required.

Coordinate facility and equipment maintenance
1. Coordinate with in-house engineering or outside vendors to have equipment repaired
2. Provide Engineering technical support and troubleshooting input.

Manage Inventory Control
1. Add new equipment to inventory control and tracking/ scheduling system
2. Check gear out-going and returning equipment from shoots to make sure all parts and pieces are intact, accounted for and no evidence of damage.



Qualifications

* Valid NY Driver’s License
* Willingness to travel (frequency approx. 1x/mo)
* 5 years of production experience;
* Technical hands-in knowledge and operation of broadcast video, audio, lighting equipment.
* Experience in inventory management a requirement
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
