Physical Requirements | This position requires occasionally sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Also involves some exposure to blood-borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people. |
Shift | Must be able to work three 12.5-hour shifts per week (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) Will also be required to work some weekends and holidays. |
Job Summary | This position will perform clinical assessments and interventions for patients presenting to the Emergency Department with behavioral health concerns. Will perform assessments for admission to behavioral health and engage in discharge planning and referrals for necessary aftercare services or will refer to the most appropriate next level of care. This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | The ideal candidate will possess experience with behavioral health assessments and care coordination. |

Preferred Education/Experience | Master’s Degree in Social Work/Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and 3+ years of behavioral health experience preferred. |
