Job Description

SAIC is seeking a SMS Tools Administrator to join our team supporting a major state & local government customer.

The SMS Tools Administrator reports to the Chief Operations Manager, and is accountable for designing, creating, maintaining and continually improving orchestrated workflows to automate IT processes throughout the enterprise for a large infrastructure support program.

Essential duties of this position include:
- Architectural leadership for the design and implementation of core management tools
- Design and management of full ServiceNow based IT Service Management Suite
- Primary interface to integration partners for the efficient, effective integration of tools and exchange of information with other peer teams, vendors, and 3rd parties including Cloud providers
- Workflow design, management and orchestration between tools and groups
- High-availability and fault tolerant design and implementation of tools. The SMS Tools Administrator performs a critical management role ensuring that the technology underpinning supporting IT support processes and workflows are working effectively, reliably, and efficiently to meet service objectives and customer expectations. You will have the opportunity to solve complex problems, design user-friendly interfaces, and optimize processes through automation. This position offers the chance to improve the speed, efficiency, and usability of IT services. The SMS Tools Administrator will also play a key role in representing current and future capabilities of supporting ITSM tools, and contributing to long- term strategy as well as tactical activities leading to the continual improvement of the environment to meet objectives.

Qualifications

Background / Experience
- Excellent communicator and collaborator, capable of working independently and in small groups of developers.
- Ability to assist with formulation and definition of solution scope and objectives while working with a team of Developers / Analysts on functional requirements and specifications.
- Independently assists with automation solutions to include hardware platforms, services, and operation systems.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for automation and orchestration
- Excellent knowledge of Service Now and ability to create work flows experience and development skills in vmWare SMS Tools Automation (VRA)
- Extensive experience with SMS Tools Automation and ability to create work flows Project Delivery experience (plan, design, implement).
- Experience managing performance and availability of mission critical applications, with a focus on virtualized environments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Preferred to have ServiceNow experience and knowledge
- Independently performs and assists other team members in providing ongoing system maintenance, research, problem resolution, and on-call support tasks for existing systems.
- With limited direction, supports the implementation of systems into production.
- Experience with SharePoint, MS SQL Server, MS Project Server as a plus Experience with related tools and platforms including Identity Access and Management (CyberARK, SailPoint), Microsoft Active Directory, Splunk, and VMWare platforms is a plus.

Education / Certifications / Other
- Bachelors and five (5) years or more of related experience; Masters and three (3) years or more of related experience; PhD or JD and zero (0) years or more of related experience.
- ITIL certification preferred (Foundation or above)
- Strong skills with: MS Office products and Microsoft SharePoint

Experience with the following:
- HTML
- Structured Query Language (SQL)
- MS SQL Server
- MS Project Server
- Sharepoint
- ServiceNow, preferred

Candidate must be able to successfully complete VA Department of Corrections / FBI Background Investigation
