SAIC is currently seeking highly qualified professionals to be part of SAIC’s team supporting our customers.

- Leads design and development of platform software using big data engineering technologies and SOA design patterns.
- Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of cloud-based architectures for information distribution, ingestion, curation, storage and querying.
- Ensures software standards are met and enforces secure coding practices.
- Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
- Contributes to development of new principles and concepts.
- Participates with senior managers and users to define and prioritize product requirements and establish strategic product plans and objectives.
- Applies agile practices to incrementally plan and execute software development.
- Assignments are often self-initiated.
- Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
- Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Responsibilities include:

- Participate in the assessment of the customer environment and their requirements, and identify development constraints.
- Actively engage with end users to understand data-intensive challenges and needs and ensure development enables high performance movement, storage, aggregation, visualization and analytics over datasets from disparate sources. Environment requires high volumes, velocity and distribution of data in conjunction with near-real time access requirements.
- Work with the open source big data stack from cluster management, search products, NoSQL data repositories to analytics software. Identify performance bottlenecks and evaluate scaling benchmarks.
- Work through a variety of technical challenges that will require creativity and close collaboration across internal teams, customers, and stakeholders.
- Able to multitask and know where to add business value, and when to delegate, guide or take ownership.
- Mentoring junior developers.
- Take smart risks and champion new ideas.


- Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; 14+yrs, five (5)+ years SOA, Cloud, and Big Data


- Must be a US Citizen
- Must currently possess a TS Clearance with ability to achieve TS/SCI


- 5+ years of experience with Enterprise architecture focusing on SOA, Cloud, and Big Data.
- Experience in MongoDB and MySQL databases
- Experience with Enterprise and Big Data architectures including expertise in the full data lifecycle areas of: data ingestion, data aggregation, data correlation and visualization, analytics
- Strong understanding and experience with SOA and cloud computing architecture (AWS/Azure) including integration strategies and design patterns
- Strong understanding of DevOps approach and experience with Configuration and Deployment tools (CI/CD)
- Experience with design and development of data exchanges that are OGC standards compliant replacing proprietary interfaces
- Experience in Agile Software life cycle methodology
- Good troubleshooting skills and logical thought processes a must.
- Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask; can set priorities and follow a timeline.


- Experience with OpenSearch for publishing results in a format suitable for syndication and aggregation
- Familiarity with SIPRNET Security implementations
- Experience working with DoD Information Network (DODIN) data sources within the cyber threat analysis and cyber situational awareness domain
- Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) Information Event Management (SIEM)
- Experience with eCore Content Discovery and Retrieval Engine (CDRE) for search infrastructure
- Experience with SAFe® methodology
- Understanding of global, enterprise management of data infrastructure and access control policies


- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Systems or related discipline AND 9+ years’ relevant experience with at least 5+ years’ in big data, cloud and SOA technologies


- Master’s in above disciplines
