POSITION SUMMARY
-
This position will provide operational support of facilities, activities, and resources for SIM-ND training events and other activities utilizing the trucks. This includes providing technical and hands-on support for simulation truck preparation and delivery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
-
Licenses and Certifications Required
-
EMT by licensure/certification. State or National instructor certification in one or more of the following courses: BLS, PHTLS, PEPP, or willing to obtain certification within 90 days of hire (or as possible).

Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B CDL) with air brakes.

Educational Requirements
-
Education level commensurate with designated license.

Preferred education: Associates degree in any of the following preferred areas: healthcare, allied health, information technology, education/training, or related field.

Experience Requirements
-
Minimum of two years of clinical experience.
-
Preferred experience: Support role in simulation lab or comparable training facility; Experience in supporting instructional activities, preferable in health science education or higher education setting; Background in previous simulation or training environment; 2+ years’ experience driving a commercial vehicle (Class A or B) with air brakes or similar such as driving a fire truck, military vehicle, or farm vehicle.

Able to synthesize and use critical thinking to problem-solve.

Multitasking and ability to maintain high level of customer service especially in high pressure situations.

Possess the strong ability to interact with various professionals (i.e. physicians, nurses, military, faculty, research scientists, etc.)

Ability to function effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Must possess the ability to work autonomously, when required, take direction, be creative and organized and function under tight timelines.

Commitment to working in a professional, collaborative, and diverse team environment

Maintain proficient level of knowledge in medical simulation technology.

Experience with performing minor vehicle maintenance, manikin/simulator and IT/AV trouble shooting preferred.

All new staff must be approved by the UND SIM ND Program Director.
