POSITION SUMMARY
- This position will provide operational support of facilities, activities, and resources for SIM-ND training events and other activities utilizing the trucks. This includes providing technical and hands-on support for simulation truck preparation and delivery.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Licenses and Certifications Required
  - EMT by licensure/certification. State or National instructor certification in one or more of the following courses: BLS, PHTLS, PEPP, or willing to obtain certification within 90 days of hire (or as possible).
  - Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B CDL) with air brakes.
- Educational Requirements
  - Education level commensurate with designated license.
  - Preferred education: Associates degree in any of the following preferred areas: healthcare, allied health, information technology, education/training, or related field.
- Experience Requirements
  - Minimum of two years of clinical experience.
  - Preferred experience: Support role in simulation lab or comparable training facility; Experience in supporting instructional activities, preferable in health science education or higher education setting; Background in previous simulation or training environment; 2+ years’ experience driving a commercial vehicle (Class A or B) with air brakes or similar such as driving a fire truck, military vehicle, or farm vehicle.
- Special Skills or Training Requirements
  - Superior organizational, planning, communication and customer service skills required
  - Able to synthesize and use critical thinking to problem-solve.
  - Multitasking and ability to maintain high level of customer service especially in high pressure situations.
  - Possess the strong ability to interact with various professionals (i.e. physicians, nurses, military, faculty, research scientists, etc.)
  - Ability to function effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  - Must possess the ability to work autonomously, when required, take direction, be creative and organized and function under tight timelines.
  - Commitment to working in a professional, collaborative, and diverse team environment
  - Maintain proficient level of knowledge in medical simulation technology.
  - Experience with performing minor vehicle maintenance, manikin/simulator and IT/AV trouble shooting preferred.
  - All new staff must be approved by the UND SIM ND Program Director.
