The Afternoon Shift Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the integrity of products and services and understanding of internal and external customer requirements by team members. They will develop product roadmaps to ensure responsiveness to customer requirements, advocate supportability & maintainability improvements and manage all logistics deliverables that exceed internal/external customer expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises packing/kitting/shipping/receiving employee outcomes by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.

  • Initiate changes in working conditions and processes to increase efficiency and quality (Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing).

  • Development of operational/tactical implementation plans which incorporates goals and objectives which align with operational targets.

  • Investigates parts issues and ensures containment and countermeasures are implemented

  • Order, stock and move material in a manner to meet internal/external requirements while minimizing indirect labor costs.

  • Responds to customer concerns timely and efficiently. 

  • Takes precautions to ensure 100% on time delivery rate.  Anything below 98% must submit a corrective action.

  • Development of training programs and employee standard work instructions.

  • Maintain efficient storage and control of material used in areas assigned, storage outside and offsite.

  • Track efficiency of all warehouse activities and implement new and/or improved robust processes with the team.

  • Ensure safe and clean work areas.

  • Implement, update, and follow quality system requirements and participate in company audits. 

  • Participates in year-end inventory, EDI systems, reports and customer portal requirements. Works closely with all departments to ensure smooth day to day activities

  • All other duties assigned.

  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills.

  • User knowledge in customer portals: DDL/EDDL, Crates, Clip, etc.

  • MRP system knowledge/experience (Visual knowledge).

Education / Licenses / Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree; preferably in Supply Chain Management, or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • 3+ years experience in automotive shipping/receiving operations, and lean manufacturing 

Physical Requirements:

  • Needs to be able to use full range of motion while lifting 20 pounds

  • Be able to stand for long periods of time

  • Be able to walk short to moderate distances in a reasonable amount of time

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
