Outage Planning

On-site Outage Execution for Steam turbines of Own fleets as well as Other OEM fleets.

Analysis & providing technical solutions to problems being encountered /identified by Thermal Power Utilities concerning mainly operation and maintenance of Large & small Steam Turbines.

Support team in Creation of Standard and project specific technical documentation to support outages for identified oOEM fleets. Troubleshooting of technical problem at sites as per Engineering instructions.



**Job Description**



**Roles and Responsibilities**



+ Shall be responsible for outage preparation for requested works on site Outages (OEM & OOEM).

+ Shall be responsible for execution of site activities mainly dismantling, fact finding, implementation of rectification solutions of Steam Turbines to ensure a quality rebuild of the unit and back to service.

+ Shall be responsible for on-site troubleshooting support for ST operational issues, as needed.

+ Shall understand and learn various fleet technologies, maintenance/repair practices as well as product upgrades from Product Centres and put the lesson learnt to practice.

+ He shall provide periodic knowledge sharing sessions amongst group members to build-up key competencies.



**Required Qualifications**



+ B.E/B.Tech. or Diploma preferably in Mechanical Engg but Electrical/Electronics would also work with relevant experience







**Experience:**



+ Should have about atleast 7-10 years of relevant experience in Power/Energy industry for position of Field Service & Technical Advising Specialist.

+ Outage execution skills on OEM fleets (legacy Alstom/legacy GE fleets).

+ Outage Execution Skills on oOEM Fleets such as BHEL or PowerMachines make LMZ200MW, BHEL make KWU210/KWU500, Outage executions on Chinese fleets such as Dongfang 300 & 600 MW as well as Shanghai Electric make 300 & 660 MW/Harbin 350 & 600 MW / Ansaldo200 etc shall be preferred.

+ Should have a Field service experience on Large Steam Turbines for at least 5 years mainly concerning field-work such as attending major and minor overhauls.

**Technical Skills**



+ Should have sound fundamentals on Steam Turbine operation and related problems.

+ Moderate to rich exposure to Steam Turbine Outage execution mainly on large Steam turbines of 100 MW and above.

+ Sound exposure to Constructional features with a view to manage complete dismantling of Steam turbine components (eg: turbine rotors, inner and outer casings, bearings, valves as well as associated auxiliaries), assess flow-path damage, suggest fact finding actions on observed damage in consultation with Service Core ITR Engineering and re-assemble to achieve desired flow-path clearances.

+ Analytical abilities to troubleshoot on different operational problems of Steam Turbine (eg: bearing vibrations) and subsequently advise on short term as well as long term remedial measures in consultation with Service Engineering.

+ Good Communication as well as Writing skills.

+ Proficiency in MS Office applications (MS word/MS excel/MS Power Point) etc

+ Reasonable understanding of work/ time/cost control for assigned outage execution related site activities of Steam Turbine Overhauls and successful outage execution within assigned cost estimates.

+ Knowledge of packages such as MS Project/ Primavera shall be preferred.

+ Exposure to outage execution process like outage planning/outage execution including site mobilization/execution of job along-with designated vendors/ outage Technical Close-out / Outage feedback & Lesson Learnt.

+ Compliance on GE EHS policy

**Job Location / Mobility Requirements**



+ Shall be operating from Home/Desired Location under work from Remote policy for GE TFAs.



+ Shall be travelling to Noida HQ (Delhi-NCR region) for any technical discussion, as per requirement.

+ Extensive travelling to thermal power stations mainly in India region for outage execution, sometimes to other part of the globe as per business requirements.
