Role Summary:Accountable for the WTG system and offshore foundation to meet market and project requirements, as defined by Product Line and Customer. You will have responsibility for system level trade-offs, elaboration of top level specification and customer facing technical documents, ensure on-time delivery of NPIs and cost optimization. You will collaborate to ensure alignment across Product Line, Project office, Supply Chain, Commercial teams, Installation, Commissioning and Services.

Essential Responsibilities:



+ Provide wind turbine system expertise through all phases of product development, from requirements definition through design and development, validation and product life-cycle support



+ Contribute to the development and successful execution of product strategy that positions the segment as a market leader in product technology, performance and cost



+ Lead and/or oversee system conceptual design studies and trade-offs that address product CTQs such as cost, power performance, noise, reliability & operability



+ Collaborate cross functionally with key stakeholders such as Product Line, Supply Chain, and GEs Global Research Center, Installation, Commissioning, Service, both in Onshore and Offshore Wind to execute and deliver for customers on the systems engineering scope.



+ Support definition of System requirements (PRD) by identifying product CTQs such as cost, power performance, noise, reliability & operability and other nearshore specific performance parameters



+ Own & approve System level specification (DMs) and prepare deliverables for successful System Level design review process and effective problem solving & risk mitigation plans.



+ Contribute to and approve customer facing technical documents



+ Follow and promote GE standards for high integrity and oversight of processes protecting Intellectual Property, export controlled information, and strategic technology



+ Establish design strategies, contribute to multi-generation system and technology plans in conjunction with Product Line and Sub-system Managers



+ Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through analysis, preparation and presentation of technical material to internal and external audiences



+ Drive simplification and standardization of best practices into engineering analyses, validation, and design execution



+ Collaborate with wind farm engineering team and provide solutions to enhance application space



+ Work closely with the Controlled Tittle Holders community across the business and global team members to ensure high quality and consistency on systems design and trade off decisions





Qualifications/Requirements:



+ Engineering Masters degree or equivalent knowledge / experience



+ Demonstrated experience in Wind turbine product development



+ Experience in Offshore industry



+ System or product-level mindset incl. system-level trade-off experience and experience in simultaneous engineering new product development processes



+ Effective problem identification and solving ability



+ Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment



+ Strong oral and written communication skills in English



+ Strong interpersonal skills, leading and influencing skills and a positive energy







Desired Characteristics:



+ Ability to break-down complex issues, determine possible courses of action, and enable effective decision making



+ Experience with field issues, test and validation

-Experience dealing with outsourced companies, 3rd parties and customers



+ Knowledgeable about GE Wind Turbine design practices and 3rd party certification requirements



+ Experience in Compliance, Product Safety and EHS



+ Experience in wind Turbine Certification Processes



+ Project and programs management experience is helpful for the job



+ Business acumen and customer focus



+ Expert knowledge on wind turbine component design criteria and wind turbine systems integration
