Senior Staff Engineer - Systems Engineering

Role Summary:The Advanced Military Engineering (AME) team is responsible for the design, development, vehicle integration, and testing of military and derivative commercial gas turbines and integrated engine, power, and thermal management systems.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be the Boeing OEM / WSC Systems focal

+ The activities include:

+ Provide systems integration focus working directly with MSO Project counterpart to support WSC Advanced Propulsion System studies

+ Innovate propulsion system integration solutions for OEM / WSC activities including Inlet, Engine, PTMS and exhaust

+ Establish Customer pull and protect IP

+ Help lead and direct, advanced studies, proposals, ROM cost estimates and road map initiatives

+ Help drive proposal quality, timely delivery and competitive proposals for OEM RFI and RFP request

+ Develop and maintain good working relationship with Weapon Systems Contractors and position GE for winning on customer activities

+ Responsibility includes managing budgets and schedules


+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from an accredited college or university

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering role within an engineering environment


+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance

+ Ability and Willingness to travel 10% of the time

Desired Characteristics:

+ Active US DOD Secret Security Clearance

+ Experience with aircraft engine component / systems design, engine performance, engine controls, and power / thermal systems

+ Experience working with DoD customer and processes

+ Experience working early TRL multi-disciplinary programs

+ Strong ability to work in a team environment with demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills

+ Demonstrated ability to lead by influence

+ Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market, and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business

+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

+ Strong oral and written communication skills
