Summary: Sevan is currently seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to join our team. As the Senior Safety Engineer, it will be your responsibility to support company goals regarding safety by developing and encouraging a safer workplace. You will ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), EM-385-1, and the Department of Transportation (DOT). The Senior Safety Engineer will accomplish this by conducting training, safety inspections, administration, and by supporting supervisors, and other staff to ensure they comply with governmental, company, and client policies. This is a full-time remote opportunity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee Sevan's Construction Safety Program for Sevan craft employees and subcontractors.
• Work closely with the Project Managers and others to ensure the implementation of Sevan and client safety policies, including developing Risk Assessments/Registers, Job Hazard Analysis, and Safety Communications.
• Oversee implementation and oversight of the Office Safety Programs and Policies.
• Support Sevan Safety Training Program and Provide targeted training based on line of business and department requirements.
• Ensure required safety training is conducted and documented.
• Manage and update Sevan Safety Data and Tracking Systems.
• Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues.
• Clarify safety rules and provide technical expertise and solutions to safety challenges onsite.
• Assist and collaborates with the team in investigating all safety incidents to determine cause, implement corrective actions, and complete reports, as required.
• Provide direct support to the Director of Safety for Client Safety Consultation Services
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational/ Industrial Health and Safety, Engineering or related field. (Accredited BCP/NCEER Safety Certifications and Years of Experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.)
• 5-15 years of Construction related safety and health experience.
• Experience in developing safety policies and procedures and conducting accident investigations.
• Proficient in MS Office and Safety Assessment Data Systems
• ASP/CSP/OSHA 500 certification preferred, not required.
• Excellent communication and advisory skills
