Job Description

This is an analytical laboratory position requiring demonstrated application of standard principles, theories and techniques to aid in solving specific problems in a productive manner.   Adhering to local, regional and global regulatory compliance are integral responsibilities of this position.  The position requires technical analytical expertise, ability to perform work with minimal supervision.  


As the Senior Research Associate you will be required to posses an understanding and broader application of the scientific/technical principles, theories and concepts in biopharmaceutical products. In addition you will work under minimal supervision to perform sample testing for pharmaceutical development and characterization support using various analytical techniques. 


Your role will be to support development/qualification of analytical methods as needed to achieve project goals; As well as support the improvement of existing analytical procedures and/or establishment of new procedures when needed.


Essential areas of responsibility:

  • Utilizes good laboratory, documentation and data integrity practices for data, laboratory notebooks, instrument logbooks, etc.
  • Demonstrates good corporate citizenship both in and out of the laboratory
  • Adheres to all corporate, department and safety compliance
  • Provides solutions to a variety of scientific and technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.  Solutions are practical, thorough and accurate.
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate data, and present research findings to analytical management and to project teams as needed
  • Provides support for method qualification/validation, protocols/reports, technical reports, and SOP writing
  • Demonstrates good written and verbal communication and presentation skills.  Is able to present in a variety of formats including group/departmental meetings. 
  • Ability to contribute to projects as part of a cross-functional and highly collaborative biopharmaceutical development team


What you will bring to the role:

  • Bachelors with a minimum of 5 years or a Masters with a minimum 3 years of lab experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with analytical method development, qualification and validation
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with basic principles of various separation-based analytical methods (HPLC, capillary electrophoresis, etc) and their relevance to protein therapeutic development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Cooperative, independent, self-motivated and multi-tasking
