Senior Project Manager

Role Summary:Responsible for project operations and programs support including standardization, quality management, document management, methods creation and maintenance, process improvement and tools for the project management function.

Essential Responsibilities:

Supervisory roles that provide direct or indirect leadership for overall projects operation, including leadership for operations in which activities are centralized shared resources to execute customer projects and / or project monitoring activities. Participates in discussions about the future of the business requiring frequent and thorough interaction with other functions. Develops the year plan for the own function the basis of the framework of the strategic plan for the whole unit. Presents projects plans, technical road maps, risks and recommendations to senior business leaders (EB and SEB) within technical space and occasionally to senior leaders in partner technical teams. Important business unit clients. Complex processes requiring involvement of many stakeholders at the client side.

Additional Responsibilities:

+ Coordinate with the Project Director in oversight of project with regard to the functional areas of engineering, design, procurement, contracts, quality, etc. and all the facets of a new nuclear plant design project

+ Work effectively with the customer to improve processes and communication associated with GEH's contract commitments

+ Lead overall project team in fulfillment of customer requests and ensure achievement of key metrics, including on-time delivery of contract deliverables and performance against project schedule

+ Work effectively with the Project Director to ensure timely and appropriate coordination with customer organization related to ongoing design or procedure activities.

+ Chair weekly internal and subcontractor meetings and attend related customer meetings; Ensure appropriate communication between GEH and both customer organization and subcontractor organizations

+ Oversee principal subcontractor, including monitoring of subcontractor resources and timely review of subcontractor deliverables, as required

+ Prepare official project document transmittals for all project matters, including monthly progress report

+ Communicate work release approval between the customer and GEH and principal subcontractor

+ Provide support to engineering to guide solutions to project issues related to contract commitments

+ Maintain project files and contract status, as required

+ Gain experience in DOE VTR Phase 1 in preparation for the anticipated DOE VTR Phase 2, which currently under proposal

+ Other activities required by Project Delivery General Manager or Project Director


+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in Operations Leadership

+ Minimum of 1 year of experience in power plant project management

Desired Characteristics:

+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

+ Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

+ Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects

+ Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills

+ New plant project management experience

+ Nuclear power experience

+ Power plant design experience

+ U. S. Government FAR experience
