**Job Description Summary**

The Sales & Use Tax Manager will be responsible for oversight of the US Sales and Use tax processes, including coordination with the external service provider, for the GE Corporate businesses.

**Roles and Responsibilities**



+ Management and oversight of all sales and use tax for entities managed by GE Corporate. This also includes outsourced tax functions such as controversy, controllership and compliance.

+ Serves as a leader, providing leadership, direction, knowledge and advice to team members and senior management.

+ Closely collaborates with Finance and Accounting on tax and accounting issues impacting the Companys financials.

+ Lead transaction tax projects including tax system implementations (One Source/Vertex) due diligence, integration reviews and voluntary disclosures.

+ Work with outsourced providers to manage and resolve complex sales & use tax audit issues. Preparation of audit reserves.

+ Prepare and/or review of monthly manual reporting tax files to external service provider, provide G/L extracts and post journal entries.

+ Review and resolve monthly reporting tax file queries.

+ Review of significant tax funding requests, including coordination of review of significant payments on behalf of other GE businesses.

+ Oversight of monthly/quarterly account reconciliations, including periodic review of balances with Senior Management.

+ Partner with finance and operational leaders to understand tax implications of transactions.

+ Review customer and supplier contracts for proper sales and use tax determination and provide tax saving opportunities when available.

+ Comprehensive tax research and analysis on various sales/use tax issues to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions.

+ DNR's, intercepted customer payments, internal billing allocations/liquidations, exemption certificate requests and reviews, reconciliation issues and other sales tax related items received from business or outsourced provider.

+ Lead the training of Company finance, operations and other personnel on sales and use tax matters. Interact and support other GE tax teams and related 3rd Party Vendors. Identification and implementation of process improvements. Issue resolution and facilitation related, to customer and supplier tax disputes, unabsorbed tax credits.



**Required Qualifications**



+ Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related field

+ Minimum of 10 years of public accounting experience or equivalent in industry

+ Strong technical background that includes an understanding of the relationship between sales and use tax technical issues and solutions and the compliance process

+ Strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (pivot tables, VLookup, Macros, etc.)

+ Fluent in English

+ Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.Note:
