Senior Manager, Materials - South Asia, Japan

Role Summary:Work strategically with the AKA, Japan and South Asia OTR operations & Commercial Region

teams to drive systematic and physical process improvements in the way we manage the material

flow. Lead projects focused on improving inventory turns while reducing distribution inventory

totaling $115M in the following buckets: Finished goods (FG) in warehouses, installation in

process (IIP) at customers, locally sourced items (LSI / ICAT), etc.

Essential Responsibilities:Projects include partnering with commercial teams to expedite selling of slow moving inventory,

reallocating existing FG to new customer orders, returning FG to manufacturing, ensuring

alignment of incoming FG from Mfg to support customer orders. Additionally, drive down existing

$11M obsolete inventory balance & reduce new obsolete inventory expense.

Key responsibilities include:

1.Partner with Regional functional teams to establish operating mechanisms and develop actions

to reduce ~ $15M of aged inventory which will improve working capital and reduce obsolescence


2.Lead regional OTR and inventory leaders to identify aged systems stranded in the region. Root

cause reasons why inventory is aging and develop action plans to prevent in the future. Engage

commercial team to promote sales, match aged systems with backlog, and reallocate inventory to

align with demand

3.Develop domain expertise in inventory management leveraging oracle, istock and tableau

reporting tools.

4.Drive continuous improvement and implement best practices across global materials team.

5.Exhibit leadership and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization including senior


6.Lead key materials projects to improve the overall working capital position for GE Healthcare

7.Drive for continuous inventory turn improvement and implement best practice models to assure

targets are achieved

Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelors degree and 8 years supply chain experience or HS diploma and 12 years supply

chain experience

2. Proven ability to drive change initiatives in a matrix environment

3. Ability to successfully motivate and maintain employee involvement while driving change

4. Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills

5. Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization

6. Proven Oracle knowledge and experience

Desired Characteristics:Preferred Qualifications:

1. Certified six sigma green/black belt

2. Lean manufacturing experience

3. OMLP Graduate

4. MBA or Masters Degree

5. APICS Certification

6. Preferred previous experience with global inventory management
