A role on the Marketing Guest Insights (MGI) team means being a champion for our current and future guests, and inspiring the organization to act in their best interest. Here, you will solve diverse, complex challenges alongside thoughtful, intelligent team members who lead with curiosity, empathy, drive and optimism. Youll lead consumer research that helps Target Marketing and Merchandising seize the most valuable and important opportunities. Your influence will help spark original ideas, strategic decisions and executions for our enterprise partners including Marketing, Merchants and others.

For the Senior Insights Manager role, we are seeking a highly strategic, creative, and motivated hybrid thinker who is looking to join a dynamic team. The right fit will be a naturally curious, inspiring, fun individual who has a passion for understanding ever-changing human behavior. Someone who brings an interest in and wide range of research skills/aptitude including qualitative, quantitative, cultural insights, human-centered design research, insights-led strategy development and passionate storytelling. You will lead a variety of complex qualitative and quantitative insights projects in partnership with outside research agencies and internal partners. We are seeking a leader who is comfortable working in all stages of the research process including knowledge gap analysis, crafting learning agendas, drafting project RFPs, questionnaires/research protocols, story-driven deliverables, and immersive learning sessions for key internal partners. Someone with the proven ability to deliver high quality outputs amidst the dynamic nature of workload and pace inherent in retail will be a great fit in this role.

The primary professional experience requirements are that youve continuously demonstrated and acted upon an insatiable curiosity for understanding human behavior deeply; and youve consistently uncovered and articulated insights that fuel strategies and actions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years relevant work experience
  • Well-versedand experienced in designing and conducting/partnering on a broad array of mixed-methodologyinsights/strategy research projects
  • Familiarity and understanding of wide variety of qualitative and quantitative methods/analyses
  • A track record of success in dealing effectively with complex projects
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, project management, written/verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Create clear and compelling storylines that are strategically sound and emotionally provocative
  • Ability to succinctly, clearly and visually represent and communicate complex insights and identified opportunities (experience in the creation of frameworks and an experienced synthesizer of data is a plus)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Social science/market research background
  • Bachelors degree
  • Proficient in methodological design (including approach, protocol, survey/questionnaire and output/deliverables)
  • Proven ability to scope research, lead fieldwork, conduct interviews, perform desk research and lead synthesis
  • Experience in group session designing, planning and facilitating
  • Experience in ethnographic consumer interviewing

  • Demonstrated comfort and openness with adapting or pivoting when change is required and ability to thrive in ambiguous environments
