Progeny is the lead system integrator for the Undersea Warfare Decision Support System (USW-DSS) supporting technology insertion as well as development, integration, training and maintenance. USW-DSS is a DoD Net-Centric Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) program which provides anti-submarine warfare mission planning and monitoring for US Navy fleet units. This full-time position will be working out of Progeny Systems East Campus in Manassas, VA; remote work is possible and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The ideal candidate will be working with a multi-organizational engineering team to achieve rapid technology evolution utilizing continuous integration and continuous deployment methods.
Daily responsibilities will include numerous software and system engineering activities for USW-DSS, as the team rapidly develops, integrates and tests prototypes and refines the software based on customer needs/issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

Areas of responsibility include:

• Participation in the software engineering lifecycle, from requirements gathering/decomposition, technical design documentation and creating/reviewing test-related documentation
• Designing, developing, testing and delivering USW-DSS software artifacts based on schedule and milestones
• Working closely with government stakeholders, program management and integration team members

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Requirements:

• Knowledge of and/or experience using Java and DevSecOps tools and processes (Kubernetes, Jenkins, Bitbucket/git, Maven, Docker)
• Desire to work within the entire software engineering lifecycle
• A quick learner and adaptable to new technologies
• Good oral and written communication skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience with PKI Certificates
• Familiarity with Virtualization
• AWS GovCloud expertise

Education/Experience

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Willing to travel occasionally within Continental United States (CONUS)
• 12+ years of professional experience

Security Clearance

This position may require the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
