Xilinx is looking for an innovative and talented Senior Linux Developer to join our Systems Software team at the Xilinx headquarters in San Jose.

This individual will be involved the design and development of a wide range of Linux sub-systems. The work spans from developing Linux solutions, working with open source virtualization solutions (Containers, VMs, and processor virtual platforms (QEMU)) to supporting Xilinx Multi-processor environment. In this capacity, you will be directly involved in the productization of these embedded software solutions for current and next-generation silicon products, working with a global team of engineers. You will work across all aspects of system software development, upstreaming, test & verification and integration of embedded software running on our SoCs.




  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related equivalent
  • Proven Linux expert with extensive experience (3  years) in a Linux environment.
  • The ideal candidate has up-streamed code to Linux kernel and worked closely with an open-source community.
  • Has strong experience in Linux kernel, kernel module development and driver development
  • Has strong understanding of Operating System internals
  • Develops a deep understanding of tools portfolio capabilities and architecture
  • Challenges new requirements and existing systems and proposes new solutions
  • Understands future strategies, assesses their impact on existing portfolio and architects improved solutions
  • Operates cross functionally to drive aligned strategies and infrastructure
  • Understands heterogeneous processing systems (a bonus)
