Job Summary | This position is with the Special Collections Research Center Located in the Margaret I. King Library Building. the student assistant would serve at the Research Room Desk: 1. Perform customer service duties: greet patrons, assist with patron sign-in, instruct patrons and visitors in Research Room procedures, policies, and use rules; 2. Retrieve materials from storage areas and return materials to storage areas, following all tracking procedures and security protocols; 3. Assist with scanning orders and digitization requests, perform scanning duties and assist with file delivery services; 4. Data entry, MS Excel tasks, additional clerical duties, and; 5. Assisting SCRC staff with other tasks and special projects, as assigned. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | English Language proficiency, Microsoft Word and Excel, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, reliability, punctuality, strong work ethic, strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to work independently or within a team, ability to handle fragile objects carefully, respect for intrinsic value of archival materials. |
