Job Summary
The Markey Cancer Center (MCC), Center for Environment Systems Biochemistry (CESB) is currently recruiting for a Scientist II. The researchers using the RM-SRF typically deal with data representing a field outside of their expertise, which consists of large data sets that total over 1 million assays/yr for the RM-SRF. To meet this need, the Scientist II will advise on experimental design with regards to SIRM, non-mass spectrometric proteomics, and metallomics analyses, coordinate analytical instrument scheduling with the CESB Service Center, conduct data reduction which is a substantial portion of the effort, and initial metabolic interpretation. The incumbent will also conduct some of the benchwork for the analyses and/or train personnel from investigators’ laboratories, such as sample preparation, in order to expedite analysis as needed. The position requires knowledge of cancer biology, understanding of chemical quantitative analytics, metabolism, and some experience in animal handling, cell culture, and clinical/translational experimentation.

This position will have a fully onsite work arrangement.
