Shift | Monday through Friday, working everyday with flexible daily start and stop times, with the expectation of working 40 hrs/wk. |
Job Summary | An outstanding research scientist needed to work in molecular biology and animal laboratories that develop research resources for salamanders, especially in advancing tissue regeneration research. Applicants with a Masters degree or higher in the biological sciences and 5 years of previous laboratory experience are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have previous experience in one or more of the following areas: epigenetic research, germplasm cryopreservation, molecular biology. The specific duties include collecting tissues from salamanders, isolating nucleic acid, preparing genetic reagents, rearing embryos and screening embryos for phenotypic variations under a microscope, performing PCR and QPCR, and collecting and cryopreserving spermatophores. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Knowledge of embryo microinjection, germ plasm cryopreservation, basic computer programs including Excel. |

Preferred Education/Experience | Experience with aquatic salamander embryos, larvae and adults is preferred. MS degree or higher and 5 years lab experience. |
