Role Summary:The Schenectady Remote Operations Center is a critical part of GE Renewables customer service operation. We are looking to fill a technical support specialist role with a forward-thinking, operational mindset who will partner with the leadership team to drive up the value of this GE Service O&M component for the Renewable Energy Business.

Essential Responsibilities:The Reliability Specialist II must leverage training, industry experience, equipment knowledge, software know-how, and customer support skills to deliver world class real-time execution of the global ROC monitoring solutions strategy focused on efficiency, improvements, and consistency of remote power generation services operations by dispositioning first-level response for renewables assets by diagnosing problems, helping return systems to service, and driving asset performance improvements.

As the Customer Reliability Specialist II, you will:

+ Quickly learn and understand engineering processes related to renewables power generation; leveraging the experience of the greater customer solutions team when necessary

+ Quickly master analytics software and tools

+ Deftly manage customer expectations and satisfaction for the managed fleet

+ Deliver savings to our customers in the form of increase response velocity, reduced maintenance costs and less unplanned downtime

+ Execute mid-course adjustments in operations, manage power and voltage output level for the windfarm, and escalate issues with recommendations affecting under-performance

+ Ensure that the status of the equipment is current and documented with recommended resolutions

+ Adapt to ever-evolving turbine and windfarm remote monitoring operational processes while executing them in a timely fashion

+ Address customer concerns / issues in a timely and satisfactory fashion by diagnosing Hardware & Software problems

+ Help manager and peers to create strategies to identify and understand in-depth client needs beyond a cursory level (both known and latent); assist with collection and analysis of customer data


+ Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college or university (OR Associate's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of technical experience OR High School Degree / GED with a minimum of 6 years of technical experience)

+ Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

+ Ability to effectively navigate through uncertainty and understand / adhere to quality requirements

+ Builds industry experience relevant to understanding common challenges and realities faced by customers

+ Ability to conduct basic demo of North Americas Customer Solutions services product

+ Exhibits thorough understanding of customer enterprise

+ Demonstrates ability to interact with influencers, stakeholders, and decision makers as part of a larger customer solutions plan

+ Completes assigned tasks on time and with high quality

+ Takes independent responsibility for assigned deliverables

+ Identifies problems and contributes to solution development, working effectively as part of a team

+ Actively looks for opportunities to establish credibility with customers and/or peers

+ Proactively looks for opportunities to find answers and close loop

+ Communicates clear, concise, and relevant information by distilling information down to key points

+ Demonstrates sensitivity to key cultural issues

+ Recognizes collaborative behavior and participates in collaborative activities

+ Builds & maintains strong relationships with team members

+ Fosters a strong working relationship with peers and customers in order to generate a clear understanding of their needs and concerns

+ Possesses ability to think from stakeholders perspective
