This position is required to ensure radiation safety on UK campus for employees, students and visitors, to protect the environment, and to ensure compliance with all applicable statutes and regulations relating to radiation safety. Conduct Authorized user/laboratory radiation safety inspections and radiation/contamination surveys. Process and deliver radioactive material packages. Pick up radioactive waste and process radioactive waste. Assist in calibrating radiation meters, assist in radiation source inventories and leak tests. Set up and remediate UKHC rooms used for patient therapies. Perform radioactive decontamination services as required. Conduct special surveys to facilitate the exiting of laboratories/areas, release materials and equipment as needed. Responds to Radiological emergencies as assigned.
