Administrative Analyst/Specialist I

Advancement Services


Salary Range: $3,288 - $6,347/Monthly


Work Schedule:Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; non-exempt classification.


Essential Job Functions: Under the general supervision of the Director of Advancement Services, the incumbent will be responsible for identifying, researching and qualifying individuals, corporations and foundations as major donor prospects consistent with the priorities of the University and ensure that the fund raising staff has an ongoing supply of prospects to meet the University’s fund raising goals. The incumbent will use the following resources: advancement database, Lexis-Nexis, ResearchPoint, Target Analytics’ modeling and wealth screening, Live-Alumni and other paid vendor resources to assist in their research work and to prepare prospect research profiles, event bios and other requested reports. The incumbent will work closely with the Prospect Research Manager to determine prioritization of tasks and projects and guidance with any prospect research questions; with the Director of Advancement Services on database clean-up and tracking projects as they relate to prospect research including duplicate account clean-up, appeal and return mail tracking, creation of new constituent records and alumni verification, alerts and other projects; oversee the annual Class of Graduates and Alumni Transfer imports into Raiser’s Edge using ImportOmatic and also provide back-up cash handling support to the Advancement Services Coordinator and to the Matching Gift Compliance Approver. University Advancement positions require staff to work with highly confidential and sensitive information.



Required Qualifications and Experience: The incumbent must have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. The incumbent must have prior experience working with a fund raising relational database system (i.e. Raiser’s Edge, Advance or PeopleSoft Contributor Relations); and using paid prospect research tools (i.e. ResearchPoint, Lexis-Nexis, Dataquick, Alumni Finder,WealthFinder, or others). The incumbent must have demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communications; and technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software, online research and analysis of information, and electronic databases. The incumbent must have excellent organizational and time management skills. The incumbent must have the ability to maintain and manage multiple projects and exercise appropriate judgement; maintain confidential information at all times; maintain accurate and detailed data and documents; work collaboratively as part of a team; accept direction and to work independently; and must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.


Desired Qualifications:Prior experience in higher education/fundraising organization working as a prospect research analyst.
