Role Summary:Responsible for providing technical and scientific support during the sales process for range of AKTA Chromatography systems, Unicorn software, columns, consumables & associated products.



Candidates should note that this role will be in scope for the proposed transition of GE Biopharma to Danaher and will transfer to Danaher at close of this transaction.

Essential Responsibilities:Responsibilities may include providing the required pre-sale product demonstrations, proof of principles studies, post-sale installation, training and/or customer service/support activities for the product portfolio. Responsibilities will also include ongoing post-sale customer support including any on-site technical in-servicing and go-live support.

Product Scope: AKTA Chromatography systems, Unicorn software, columns, consumables & associated products.

1. Achieve sales and order targets in a defined territory.

2. Support progression of sales opportunities for their products/solutions/services in designated region. Key daily activities include, but are not limited to application & technical support, opportunity progression, expanding share at existing accounts.

3. Maintain and grow relationships, develop business strategies, maximize business opportunities for all GE Healthcare LS businesses, products & services within ANZ (or within defined care area/department scope). Represent One GEHC, and act as a primary customer point of contact. Provide on-going feedback to management, product teams, services and marketing locally and globally.

4. Coordinate orders and sales forecasts within the applicable sales funnel, CRM tools and reports for defined region in conjunction with Account Managers, Business Development Managers, Sales Leaders and Channel Partners.

5. Develop and nurture a network of key opinion leaders.

6. Provide technical and scientific leadership during sales process by demonstrating full range of product features including potential uses, product capabilities and benefits to customers as needed.

7. Communicate with Sales, Business and Modality Leaders to align applications activities with sales needs, business objectives and annual sales growth targets.

8. Communicate with Product, Sales, & Service teams to ensure customer and business needs are met.

9. Use market and product knowledge to assist sales team in developing sales, marketing and customer service strategies.

10. Produce well-written proof of principle and post-training reports and provide regular feedback on customer satisfaction, competitor activity and market needs.

11. Develop, coordinate and deliver product training to customers on application and/or equipment use, monitor customer processes to improve customer satisfaction and enrich customer relationships.

12. Improve customer satisfaction and product retention through continuing education on optimization of product utilization by customer.

13. Support trade shows and professional conferences by performing technical presentations, demonstration and promotion as well as customer training.

Quality Specific Goals:

1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.

2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.

3. Identify and report any and all customer quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Quality Organization.

4. Identify and report any personal quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Quality Organization. Insure timely dispatch closure.

5. Ensure completion of all field modifications instructions (FMIs) within prescribed timeframe. Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible.

Qualifications/Requirements:1. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred in related scientific/technical field

2. A strong chromatography background with demonstrated experience in protein purification techniques and applications. A demonstrated capability to present protein purification applications including Affinity, SEC, IEC techniques and application material in understandable terms to a range of clients within defined market segment/s.

3. Scientific based laboratory experience in biopharmaceutical/biotech/academic setting preferred.

4. AKTA / Unicorn chromatography system product experience desired.

5. Demonstrated sales &/or industry experience in a similar role.

6. Strong presentation skills (public speaking and lecture experience desired)

7. Demonstrated interpersonal & communication skills (ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, to external customers, global counterparts and to team members in other functional organizations)

8. Solid problem solving skills. An ability to manage and resolve conflict, communicate issues and propose solutions to both internal team members and external customers.

9. Proven professional business acumen with experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as a part of a solution-based sales process.

10. Self-motivated, willingness to take initiative, identify opportunities for improvement and take actions to improve.

11. Team oriented with a customer satisfaction mindset.

12. Ability to multi-task effectively and manage multiple priorities at one time.

13. Understands flexibility in changing work environments.

14. Travel schedule 30-50% (Average 1 to 1.5 week per month)
