Position Summary

The Center for Cancer Cell Biology, Immunology and Infection at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Laboratory of Dr. Joseph Reynolds. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work on an NIH-funded project to investigate molecular mechanisms underlying autoimmune inflammation. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will specifically looking at the differentiation and function of inflammatory T cells.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Unsupervised planning and execution of experiments, data collection and analysis and help in the preparation of manuscripts and/or grants.
  • Perform in vitro and in vivo T cell assays.
  • Perform flow cytometry-based analysis.
  • Maintain mouse colonies related to this project.
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned or delegated.

Required Education and Experience
  • PhD in an immunology-related discipline.
  • A track record of scientific achievement as evidenced by peer-reviewed journal publications
  • Must be able to achieve a background check clearance

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in mouse handling and models of disease
  • Proficiency in tissue processing
  • Experience with cell sorting and flow cytometry
  • Proficiency in immunoblot and ELISA-based assays.
  • Experience with NGS approaches
  • Excellent reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to multi-task, to manage time effectively, and to follow instructions and protocols.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data independently and as a team.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including ability to set priorities and excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work productively with diverse populations; show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences.
